PBH 140 - Environmental and Occupational Health

Provides an introduction to environmental health risk assessment/risk management and occupational health and safety. Examines organizations that research, manage, and regulate occupational health and safety. Reviews the appropriate measures needed to lower the risk of exposure to various chemical and biological threats to human health.
Lecture 3 hours per week, 3 credits.

General Course Purpose

This course is designed to provide an introduction to environmental health and occupational health and safety and to introduce the student to organizations that manage and regulate occupational and environmental exposures. This is a required course for the Career Studies Certificate in Public Health.
