PED 168 - Basic Personal Trainer Preparation

Course Description

Effective: 2015-05-01

Introduces the skills and knowledge required to become a personal trainer. Includes the principles of individual weight management, personal wellness, and the skills necessary for the creation of a fitness program for potential clients.

This course is designed to train students to become knowledgeable personal trainers in health clubs, recreation departments, and fitness facilities.

PED 248 - Advanced Snowboarding

Teaches the advanced skills of snowboarding, selection and use of equipment, terminology, and safety rules.

General Course Purpose

PED 248 provides the opportunity for students with a basic skill and knowledge level of snowboarding to further improve their competencies in all aspects of the sport, and introduces the student to advanced and competitive techniques.

PED 254 - Advanced Volleyball

Course Description

Emphasizes advanced volleyball skills, techniques, strategies, rules, and scoring.
(1-2 Cr.) Lecture 0-1 hours. Lab hours 2-4. Total 2-4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

The purpose of the course is to further advance the volleyball skills of the students. Students will be able to focus on refinement of techniques and the variations of play for both offense and defense. The class will provide students an opportunity for another choice when it comes to selecting classes to fulfill their Health/Physical Education requirement.
