- Requires completion of a project or research report related to the student's occupational objectives and a study of approaches to the selection and pursuit of career opportunities in the field.May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

- Presents an introduction to philosophical problems and perspectives with emphasis on the systematic questioning of basic assumptions about meaning, knowledge, reality, and values. The assignments in the course require college-level reading fluency and coherent communication through written reports. This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course.Lecture 3 hours. - Offers a historical survey of major philosophers from the ancient Greeks to the modern era. The assignments in this course require the ability to write at the college level, read college-level philosophical texts, and understand and apply philosophical concepts with complex meanings.Lecture 3 hours. 3 credits - PHI 220 - Ethics and Society
- Provides a systematic study of representative ethical concepts and theories and discusses their application to concrete moral dilemmas and social issues and problems. This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course.Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
3 credits - PHI 227 - Bio-Medical Ethics
- Examines the ethical implications of specific biomedical issues in the context of major ethical systems.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - PHI 260 - Studies in Eastern Thinking
- Introduces an in-depth study of the East through a variety of approaches which include music, literature, drama and cinema. Places special emphasis on Chinese and Japanese philosophy and religion, especially Buddhism.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - PHI 265 - Philosophy of Religion
- Examines problems raised by arguments for and against the existence of God and discusses such topics as the nature of God, the nature of religious experience, the problem of evil, religious truth and language, immortality, miracles, spirituality, and the relation between philosophy and theology.Lecture 3 hours per week.
