Highlights the diverse biological environment in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Focuses on the unique geology and geography of the region. Covers protection of the regionals natural resources and the watershed related to outdoor recreation activities and trail projects.

General Course Purpose

To provide the student with general exposure to the delicate biological environment that exists in the Southern Appalachian Mountains and the effects that recreational activities and related projects have on the Appalachian Ecosystem.
