RPK 103 - Preparation for Wilderness Adventure

Covers the background knowledge needed to be prepared for a trip in the wilderness. Examines what to do in a planned and an unplanned extended wilderness experience. Focuses on what items to pack and the skills needed to ensure a successful outing.
2 credits. Laboratory 2 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

To provide the student who is planning on participating in wilderness activities, such as backpacking, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, etc., with the basic skills and knowledge to properly prepare for the experience.
