Introduces basic behavior and low-stress handling techniques and concepts as they apply to dogs and cats in the veterinary setting.
Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

This course provides appropriate introductory concepts and techniques in animal behavior for veterinary assisting students. The content of this proposed course is intended to complement skills learned in other veterinary assisting courses to ensure the students are appropriately prepared for entering the field.

Prerequisite(s): VET 101, Introduction to Veterinary Assisting or VET 102, Care and Maintenance of Small Domestic Animals
