WEL 238 - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) Aluminum

Examines the use of the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) process in welding aluminum. Focuses on practice welding aluminum projects in various weld joint configurations and in all welding positions.
Lecture 1 hour, Laboratory 3 hours, Total 4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

To give students an opportunity to develop their Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) skills with aluminum and an opportunity for an AWS certification. Industry is using this welding process more as technology and demands increase.
