WEL 241 - Robotic Welding I

Course Description

Examines safety, setup, programming, and operation of a welding robot. Covers variables and problems in addition to solutions applied to provide a practical and efficient application of the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process to an automated system. (Part I of II)
Lecture 1 hour, Laboratory 3 hours, Total 4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

To introduce students to a new process being used in the welding industry to improve productivity and efficiency in the work place and to provide them with the skills to operate the process. Robotic welding is being used more by industry therefore trained welders are needed to operate these robots.
