SDV 106 - Preparation for Employment
Provides experience in resume writing, preparation of applications, letters of application, and successfully preparing for and completing the job interview. Assists students in identifying their marketable skills and aptitudes. Develops strategies for successful employment search. Assists students in understanding effective human relations techniques and communication skills in job search.
Lecture 1-2 hours per week.

Provides experience in the practical applications of resume writing, interviewing techniques, networking and job satisfaction, presented on Blackboard. Use of assessments, video, interactive activities helps students understand and prepare for the working world. Provides insight in reaching goals in life based on the work of Richard Bolles in "What Color is Your Parachute?". Starts August 24.
