CST 151 - Film Appreciation
Introduces the critical study of film as an art form and cultural artifact. Examines cinematic techniques and the relationship between movies and their social contexts. Develops analytical skills for interpreting visual media. This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course.
Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.

*All Films will be available to view online in some format. Some films may need to be rented or accessed through a streaming service (such as Netflix). When possible, The instructor will provide free/streaming links, but ultimately it is the students responsibility to locate and view assigned films within the allotted time.
This course meets entirely online with no scheduled meeting times. Students may have to purchase physical and/or electronic books and/or other course materials. Students may be required to take at least one proctored assessment. Faculty will inform students of the proctored assessment requirements in the syllabus and class notes. Instructors may require a webcam and microphone for audio and video capabilities. Asynchronous classes may require a proctored exam from the Testing Center or another location. Students may be able to choose an optional remote proctoring service which requires a student fee.
