HLT 143 - Medical Terminology
Provides an understanding of medical abbreviations and terms. Includes the study of prefixes, suffixes, word stems and technical terms with emphasis on proper spelling, pronunciation and usage.
Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.

E-mail instructor at HartK@centralvirginia.edu using your VCCS e-mail account with questions. This section makes use of a Follett Access digital resource in place of a textbook at a reduced cost. A required course materials fee will be paid with tuition for this resource. Students must have access to Canvas and to the internet for successful completion.

This course meets entirely online with no scheduled meeting times. Students may have to purchase physical and/or electronic books and/or other course materials. Students may be required to take at least one proctored assessment. Faculty will inform students of the proctored assessment requirements in the syllabus and class notes. Instructors may require a webcam and microphone for audio and video capabilities. Asynchronous classes may require a proctored exam from the Testing Center or another location. Students may be able to choose an optional remote proctoring service which requires a student fee.
