- Introduces the principles and processes of various research methods for applying the scientific method to understanding behavior. Includes preparation for and fundamental experience with designing, conducting, interpreting, and evaluating behavioral science research studies. Prepares students for creating APA-style research manuscripts to summarize research.Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
Prerequisites: PSY 200 AND PSY 210 (currently PSY 213) or departmental approval.4 credits

Utilizes statistical software for conducting statistical analysis. Students may need to purchase software. There will be an access option on campus, if students want to access from home, you will need to purchase. This course is part of a project called Follett ACCESS. The cost for the course materials for this class is $73.88. The electronic course materials will be available to students in Canvas when the course begins. Students will be billed for tuition, fees, and required course materials. This course meets entirely online with no scheduled meeting times. Students may have to purchase physical and/or electronic books and/or other course materials. Students may be required to take at least one proctored assessment. Faculty will inform students of the proctored assessment requirements in the syllabus and class notes. Instructors may require a webcam and microphone for audio and video capabilities. Asynchronous classes may require a proctored exam from the Testing Center or another location. Students may be able to choose an optional remote proctoring service which requires a student fee. |
