CHD 216 - Early Learning, Family, Community and Social Change
Explores methods of developing positive, effective partnerships with families to enhance their developmental goals for children. Describes risk and protective factors and identifies community resources. Considers culture and other diverse needs, perspectives, and abilities of families and educators. Emphasizes advocacy and public policy awareness as an important role of early childhood educators.

This synchronous hybrid class meets online on specific days and times over Zoom. Your instructor will facilitate live online lectures and discussions. Attendance via Zoom is a required component of the course. Students are required to participate in a community project (Week of the Young Child Celebration) and attend in person on Saturday, April 11 at the Chester campus to host the event. More information will be provided in class.. Regular weekly assignments with established due dates are provided in Canvas. Students may attend class from anywhere using a computer or mobile device. Reliable internet access and a Zoom-capable device are required.
