The Health Sciences Career Studies Certificate (CSC) (Plan code 221-190-01) has four purposes:
1. Provide CPR certification and eligibility to sit for the nurse aide credentialing exam.
2. Prepare students for the nursing program offered in partnership with Tidewater Community College
(TCC) by completing pre-requisite courses.
3. Prepare students to test for nurse aide certification.
4. Prepare students for success in other healthcare educational programs, such as occupational therapy assistant and pharmacy technician offered by TCC and other colleges.

This CSC allows students to prepare to enter a variety of healthcare fields at Eastern Shore Community College, at Tidewater Community College that ESCC shares courses with, and at other colleges and training schools. Students should work closely with an advisor to select courses that best align with their career goals.
