- ITE 119 - Information Literacy
- Presents the information literacy core competencies focusing on the use of information technology skills. Skills and knowledge will be developed in database searching, computer applications, information security and privacy, and intellectual property issues. This course applies to career/technical education (CTE) programs. ITE 152 serves both transfer and CTE programs.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - ITE 120 - Principles of Information Systems
- Provides an overview of the fundamentals of computer information systems. Focuses on the role of computers in business today including hardware, software, analysis, design and implementation of information systems. Includes an introduction to computer ethics, and business and personal security. Exposes students to techniques used in programming and system development. Utilizes a hands-on component for spreadsheets, databases, and web design applications.Lecture 3-4 hours per week.
3-4 credits - ITE 131 - Survey of Internet Services
- Introduces students to basic Internet terminology and services including e-mail, WWW browsing, search engines, ftp telnet, and other services.Lecture 1-2 hours per week.
1-2 credits - ITE 140 - Spreadsheeting for Business
- Provides a working knowledge of a commercial spreadsheet package to include design and development of a variety of worksheets, preparing graphs, working with database queries, macro writing, menu techniques, and decision analysis tools.Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
3 credits - ITE 141 - Microcomputer Software: Spreadsheets
- Provides first-time users with sufficient information to make practical use of spreadsheet software using the basic of building spreadsheets.Lecture 1-2 hours per week.
1-2 credits - ITE 152 - Introduction to Digital and Information Literacy and Computer Applications
- Develops understanding of digital and information literacy. Introduces basic computer concepts in hardware, software, cyber, cloud, database, and operating systems. Includes hands-on experience developing word processing, spreadsheet and presentation documents. Evaluates the reliability of sources. Covers creating a simple web page. Examines topics such as social, legal, and ethical issues. This is a UCGS transfer course.Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
3 credits - ITE 170 - Multimedia Software
- Explores technical fundamentals of creating multimedia projects with related hardware and software. Students will learn to manage resources required for multimedia production and evaluation and techniques for selection of graphics and multimedia software.Lecture 3-4 hours per week.
3-4 credits - ITE 175 - Email Essentials
- Focuses on providing the student with a working knowledge of introductory email function. Includes the basic concepts of customizing email and using all the email capabilities for reading, creating, sending emails, managing calendar functions and managing contacts, tasks, and notes.Lecture 1-2 hours per week.
1-2 credits - ITE 180 - Help Desk Support Skills
- Emphasizes instruction in customer support techniques required for analyzing and coordinating software and hardware solutions for end-user needs. includes evaluation and communication techniques required to provide help desk support necessary to transfer knowledge and enable implementation of a solution.Lecture 3-4 hours per week.
3-4 credits - ITE 182 - User Support/Help Desk Principles
- Introduces a variety of tools and techniques that are used to provide user support in help desk operations. Includes help desk concepts, customer service skills, troubleshooting problems, writing for end users, help desk operations, and software, needs analysis, facilities management, and other related topics related to end user support.Lecture 3-4 hours per week.
3-4 credits - ITE 195 - Topics In
- Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - ITE 199 - Supervised Study
- Assigns problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - ITE 221 - PC Hardware and OS Architecture
- Covers instruction about processors, internal functions, peripheral devices, computer organization, memory management, architecture, instruction format, and basic OS architecture.Lecture 3-4 hours per week.
3-4 credits - ITE 290 - Coordinated Internship
- Supervises on-the-job training in selected business, industrial or service firms coordinated by the college.Credit/practice ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - ITE 293 - Studies In
- Covers new content not covered in existing courses in the discipline. Allows instructor to explore content and instructional methods to assess the course's viability as a permanent offering.Variable hours per week.
