Public and private sectors face an unequal fight against threat actors and sophisticated intelligence organizations that threaten our communities' small businesses and nonprofit organizations. The course partners with a selected nonprofit organization with cybersecurity mentorship to provide offensive and defensive cyber operations, risk assessment, and social engineering. By understanding threats against small businesses and nonprofit organizations, students will use their skills to help protect and defend a selected nonprofit or small business through a hands-on approach with an end report of risk assessment and recommended remediation. This course and its prerequisite support DHS/NSA Center of Academic Excellence and CAE-CD criteria. Prerequisite: ITN260.
