PHT 271 - Digital Imaging I & II
Introduces students to the tools and techniques used by professionals in the electronic imaging field. Focuses on current trends within the photographic, prepress and internet industries. Includes image capture, manipulation, and out-put. Exposes students to the hardware and software used by today's creative professionals in a combination of lectures, demonstrations and class projects. Part II of II.

Pre-requisite: PHT 270 or instructor permission. Explores advanced methods, tools, and aesthetics of digital imaging as fine art and means of communication from a photographer's standpoint. Working knowledge of Adobe Lightroom Classic would be a plus. Hybrid class. Includes both classroom meetings and significant additional online work, which replaces some classroom time. Class meets face-to-face every week as scheduled. Please note: As of Fall 2023, Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions are no longer offered for free through NOVA. Students need to purchase their own license for successful completion of the course work. A limited number of computers with access to Adobe will be available in designated computer labs.
50% of class time meets in person, on campus; students are expected to attend class in person on the days and times listed on the schedule. 50% of class work is completed online, independently, via CANVAS. Reliable internet access and a computer are required.
