Presents advanced clinical techniques commonly performed in veterinary practice.Part I of II.

Lab for VET 221-01XL or VET221 -02XL. Open only to students admitted to the VET Tech program. Students must enroll in the same section number sequence. If enrolling in A3YL for VET 221, enroll in A3YL for VET 122 and VET132.. 50% of class time is live streamed via Zoom on the days and times listed on your class schedule. 50% of class work is completed online, independently, on your own time (following the course syllabus and due dates) via CANVAS. All students are expected to attend class virtually on the days and times listed on your schedule. Reliable internet access and a computer are required. Students enrolled in Remote VET 221 must be permitted to perform several hands-on skills on live animals under the direct supervision of their mentor and at their place of employment. These skills include, but are not limited to, performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs on dogs and cats, gastric intubation, cystocentesis, urinary catheter placement in a male dog, and surgical assisting in a sterile procedure as a scrub nurse.
