Major: Horticulture Technology at Northern Virginia Community College


The Associate of Applied Science in Horticulture Technology is part of the Applied Horticulture/Horticulture Operations, General program at Northern Virginia Community College

The curriculum is designed to prepare students for full-time employment within the field of commercial horticulture as well as for those presently working who seek further knowledge and advancement. Graduates of the program are prepared for managerial/supervisory level positions in areas which include landscape design and installation, grounds maintenance, floristry, greenhouse and nursery management, garden center operation, and sales and marketing in related industries. Students in this program have an opportunity to gain career-related work experience through Cooperative Education or an internship in their area of emphasis.
