NSG 100 - Introduction to Nursing Concepts
Introduces concepts of nursing practice and conceptual learning. Focuses on basic nursing concepts with an emphasis on safe nursing practice and the development of the nursing process. Provides supervised learning experiences in college nursing laboratories, clinical/community settings, and/or simulated environments.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
Prerequisites: BIO 141 or BIO 231

You will be assigned a clinical group, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or a weekend option. Please refer to your clinical schedule, not SIS, for clinical hours, which will be assigned to you.
You are required to complete 45 hours in Long Term Care/geriatric clinical.
Students must have working laptop, high speed internet, and webcam in order to test with Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor, or to access course materials.
Mandatory Clinical Orientation on September 12, 2025, at 9am.
In the event of unforeseen clinical facility closure, clinical hours may be assigned through virtual means, which requires additional costs to students of up to $150.
