EGR 122 - Engineering Design
Applies engineering methods to a semester-long team design project with an emphasis on engineering software involving 2D and 3D computer aided design; data modeling and analysis; and iterative programming solutions. Covers design drawings and dimensioning; spreadsheet software usage; mathematical scripting language; and professional practices.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
Prerequisite: EGR 121 or departmental permission.

EGR 122 replaces EGR 295 Engineering Design and meets Virginia Tech's requirements for ENGE 1216 Foundations of Engineering and GMU's ME 151 Practicum in Engineering. This course consists of three segments: Engineering design process, Engineering graphics communication in both 2D and 3D, and computer programming to solve Engineering design problems. The course also meets the Engineering Elective requirements. Class meets in real-time via Zoom on Thursdays from 2:20pm- 6:15pm. Reliable internet access and a Zoom-capable device are required. Starts August 25. Ends December 16.
