The Phlebotomy Career Studies Certificate offers courses to prepare a worker whose main function is to obtain, process, and transport patient blood specimens. The program includes study of venipuncture and micro-collection techniques, as well as medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, infection control, safety, quality assurance, communication, management, medical and legal ethics, and professional behavior.Students are required to participate in over 120 hours of supervised, clinical phlebotomy work in varied health care settings.
