The Career Studies Certificate in Career Studies Certificate in Emergency Medical Services Advanced Standing Paramedic is part of the Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) program at Virginia Peninsula Community College

This career studies certificate program is designed to prepare currently certified Virginia Advanced EMT and/or EMT Intermediate providers with the knowledge and skills to become competent, entry level paramedics. Students who successfully complete program requirements and attain national or state certification as a paramedic are prepared to enter the workforce and provide advanced life support care in areas such as hospitals, transport agencies, fire-rescue-emergency medical services organizations, military, volunteer services, and other fields that require emergency services and/or for patients requiring emergency medical services.
